This is how it is supposed to work. Anytime you correspond with a legislator and get no answer we should know that also.
This is the response Jan received from her Congressman in Odessa. concerning removing the Internet from political restrictions.
Thanks Jan

Thank you for contacting me about the H.R. 1606: the Online Freedom ofSpeech Act introduced by Rep. Jeb Hensarling (TX-R). I appreciate your interest in the legislative process.
The Online Freedom of Speech Act would exempt Internet communications from regulation under federal campaign finance laws. You will be pleased to know that I support H.R. 1606 and support free political speech on the internet.
If the internet has proven anything, it is that the government does not needto be involved in something for it to be successful. Over the past few years, millions of people have engaged in a level of conversation on political and social issues that has never been seen before. The Internet has motivated individuals and groups of people to be more involved in political discussions.
Web logs (blogs) offer a wealth of opinions that have enhanced political participation. The recent court ruling that demands the FEC regulate online political speech threatens to quash this new form of free speech and gives another opportunity for trial lawyers to make a buck. As a blogger myself
www.conawayblog.com, I proudly defend the open forum and believe that the government has no place regulating political debate on the Internet.
Again, thank you for contacting me. Your opinions are important to me, so please write, call or email me with any concerns you may have in the future.
