This weekend appears to have taken on a life of it's own. Calls are still coming in from riders who have never heard of TMRA 2 or Legislative Day before and are planning to attend.
Da'Lady has paid for rooms for the El Paso Warriors to be able to attend and has sent out a Media Blast (Press release to all major news media) letting them know the plans for the weekend.
KVUE News, TV station had already contacted us saying they will be at the capitol on Monday. Spoke with the San Antonio paper and were told they would also be in attendance.
Yesterday a lady called saying she saw the write up in Skunk Dots and put the Flyer on her wall. Said she rides with a group of 30 riders and they were coming for both days. Thanks to Skunk and Jingles for the article. Skunk will also be covering the event for another story.
Talked to Karen with the MC magazine Chromed Out. Will be doing an interview with them at the office on Saturday so they can tell folks what we do and what they can do to help during the session. If anyone can say they are unaware that there are riders working in the capitol for their rights after this they must be in a world of their own.
Another bit ofbig, welcome news. Gypsy International has sent TMRA 2 another check for $5,000 to help tide us over until other clubs kick in and start to help. A big thank you to these fine supporters. That support will help us pay the past due taxes and finally give me a paycheck.
We will stick with five issues on Monday. Helmet Bill, Failure To Yeild Bill, Insurance Bill and HJR 17 the Recorded Vote Resolution. We favor each of these issues. Then there is HB 50 the Road Block Bill. We strongly oppose this Bill.
When you go in to visit sign your name in the guest book. Put in the issue you plan to discuss and state "Please Support" or "Please Oppose".
