What a great State Meeting weekend that most of you missed. Friday was a lot of fun just talking and visiting with those who came in early. Fine music, food and for some, apparently some fine cold refreshments. All this along with more talking than was good for at least one state chair.
The state meeting and Bash was sponsored by the H.O.T.T. chapter and Jim's Cycle Shop. Jim supplied the location and electricity at no charge to us. Several chapters of Texas Wheels M/C pitched in to run the registration table and take care of security and about anything else they could do to help. A few members of the Brotherhood M/C came out and did the Bike Games following the General Meeting. There were silent Auction items with many coming from Sandy and Henry Duckett. There was a US Flag from Congressman Chet Brooks with a proclamation that it had flown over the US Capitol. There were several bids along with gentle banter on each bid. Jim finally let me have itv and then paid half the bid for me.
The Advisor Meeting was attended by Districts 1, 3, 12, 14, 22, 24, 28, 29 and 31. That's just over 30% of the Senatorial districts covered at this meeting. Everyone gave their reports and then we got down to the Agenda. District 6 arrived after the Advisor meeting was over. We discussed the poor support of most districts to the request for names, addresses and phone numbers to get the seats on the Advisory Committee of the Dem. Party. If any of you reading this are willing to help by adding your name please contact the State office by phone or e-mail. Your information will not be used for anything but this and will not be passed along. There must be 160 Warriors out there who are willing to help.
We discussed our need for a more modern setup for electronic communications. A committee of our whizzes were appointed to modernize our information center. One of the changes will include a state office Email address of chairman@tmra2.org. The Jacobswell site is still down but Terry and I will discuss that issue soon.
At our next meeting in May the General meeting will begin 15 minutes after the Advisor meeting ends.
Quickly: We will be getting an 800 line in the near future. WE will meet with Chief Beckworth of DPS concerning the DAWGS on HAWGS incident.
State Rep John Mabry attended and spoke to the meeting and answered questions. We now have another state Rep member as he found he believed the same issues as us.
Some Warriors have formed a new group named Central Texas Democratic Motorcyclists Association. They are hoping to convince others to form the same type Association in their Senate District.
Brookman was there and he is writing the official meeting report but we put out our new shirts and they sold well. The Shotgun Raffle cleared over $800 and Jan took home a total of roughly $3000. Not bad for the few riders present.
I, Sputnik spent some fun filled moments in jail. Peacemaker with the Chariots of Light M/C shared a passionate message on Sunday morning and then it was off to Ft. Worth for a COC Meeting. Thanks to everyone who made this a successful weekend.

Republican State Convention
We have not received enough verified Republican Delegates to make any type arrangements for the Convention the first weekend of June. Those present at the meeting said they have made their arrangements already.
There will not be a Caucus for the same reason. Your chair will be present to help in any way possible.

Democrat State Convention
The Dingy Blonde from Houston has been fighting the battle to get facilities for the Convention in Houston. Of course she always succeeds. Arrangements for the Democrat State Convention which are finalized are:
We shall camp out at the Houston Central KOA. The owner likes bikers and has made us a good deal. They have spaces for RVs at very reasonable rates. If you are only planning to stay for Friday and Saturday night you can make reservations on line and Saturday night will be half price.
We got special rates for tent campers at $5 per person a night. Thursday thru Saturday night is $15 per person We shall put down our card for the spaces and campers will pay us upon entry to the park. We urge everyone who possibly can to be there Thursday to be certain to attend our Caucus at about 1:00pm Friday. District Caucuses will take place at 3:00pm Friday.
The KOA is 17 miles north of the Convention center on Aldine Westfield off FM 525 from I-45 or US 59. It is between Loop 610 north and Beltway 8. Janet is working on Parking and there will be people on site to cook for convention goers.
To check out the Site click on www.koa.com. Click on KOA Locations, next click on the Texas map and click on #9. You can see pictures and a map on the site. Any questions call the office or send Email.
