UPDATE 9/25/06

Monday, September 25th, 2006

Independent candidate for Governor, Carol Keeton Strayhorn attended the Austin Confederation of Clubs meeting at Cyndi’s Gone HOG WILD this past Sunday. She spoke to the group and answered questions from the audience.

There was a really good turnout and she then walked around and spoke to individuals prior to the meeting actually getting started.

There was no attorney present so no official business was conducted. We shared information about upcoming events and generally shared other information.

The Austin Minutemen Chapter of TMRA 2 will hold their next meeting at Cyndi’s Gone HOG WILD on October 3rd at 7:30 pm. ,located Hwy 71 near Del Valley, with our new Coordinator Bart Luck. Thanks Bart for stepping up.

We have learned that the Democrat candidate for Governor, Chris Bell will attend this meeting to address the riders. All riders whether members of the chapter or not are invited to attend to hear what this candidate has to say.

The H.O.T. Chapter has voted to hold the May meeting at Jim’s Cycle Shop in Axtell. Don’t forget 2007 will be an election year for the state and District officers of the Association.
Consider running for an office or supporting some one to help with the day to day challenges faced by those who serve as office of the association.
We will start taking applications to be on the Ballot in January and the Ballot will be in the March Warrior.

Lautenburg Arising

From SoLR. JP

Just when you thought it was safe to ride your bike again…

Our old enemy, Senator Frank Lautenburg of New Jersey is coming after us again…through our Governors!!!! It’s not enough that we killed his safety-nazi agenda during the amendment process in TEA-LU. He doesn’t give a shit about what we or anyone else wants. He’s a one man jack-booted thug that won’t stop until we’re all wearing helmets and paying homage to him.

Read his latest attempt at stealing away your rights at the following link:

http://www.solriders.com/pdf/lautenberg.pdf

Spread this news far and wide. EVERY biker in the nation needs to see how this snake in the grass is working against us – not only in Washington – but in our statehouses, too!!! Every biker needs to contact his/her governor tomorrow and explain that you and your state don’t appreciate Frankie sticking his nose in our business.

And it might not hurt to send Frankie boy a little message about how he should stay out of issues that are strictly “states rights”.

Here’s a link to his “contact page”…these elected servants don’t use regular email anymore:

http://lautenberg.senate.gov/contact/

If you want to contact him the old fashioned way:

Hart Senate Office Building
Suite 324
Washington, DC 20510
Phone: (202) 224-3224
TTY: (202) 224-2087
Fax: (202) 228-4054

You know what to do when attacked right?

Let the hounds have at it!!!
